We always encourage parents considering sending their children to Brownhills Ormiston Academy to visit us and to meet the staff and students. We look forward to meeting you and showing you around our friendly, happy and aspiring academy.
For September 2024, our Open Evening was held on Tuesday 12 September 2023 and Open Mornings on Thursday 21st September, Friday 29 September and Wednesday 4th October 2023.
Applications for Year 7 for September 2024 are now closed. To apply for a place please follow this link Walsall Secondary Admissions to fill out the local authority preference form. The national offer date for secondary school admissions is 1st March 2024.
Year 7 Admissions Appeals
Parents will have the right to appeal to an independent panel. Further information can be found in the local authority’s secondary admissions booklet by following this link Walsall Secondary Admissions
The deadline for lodging an appeal with the Academy is Friday 19th April 2024. Appeal applications should be made in writing, using the Year 7 Appeal Form below, to the Clerk to the Appeals Panel at Brownhills Ormiston Academy.
To make an appeal, you will have to set your case out in writing and attend an appeal hearing.
It’s important to be realistic about your reasons for appealing and the chances of being successful. An appeal can prolong the period of uncertainty for you and your child.
Mid-Year Appeals 2023
All Mid-Year admission applications must be submitted directly to the academy. The Mid-Year admission form below needs to be completed and returned to Miss Brookes at the academy via: [email protected]
Mid-Year appeals are made outside the normal round of admissions. If you have completed a Mid-Year admission form and have been added to our waiting list and wish to appeal your place on the waiting list, you should complete a Mid-Year appeal form (below) and return this to Miss Brookes. Your appeal will be heard within 30 days of being lodged.
